I have had the opportunity to write some amazing business software and get paid for it along the way. As excited as I get about solving my customer’s business challenges with software, I am equally (no, doubly) excited to have the opportunity to play with new technology. But very rarely to I get to write software for said new technology – AND – do it before it is released to the general populous.
And here we are! Having just received the Kinect for Windows v2 Developer Preview on 11/27/2013, I am beyond words, and deeply thankful for Microsoft in giving my company, Clearbasis, this amazing opportunity. It started with an application (not the software one), where I explained my enthusiasm for Kinect and my past experience developing for the Kinect v1. After lots of waiting and anticipation, I was welcomed on board to the Kinect for Windows v2 Developer Preview Program in September 2013.
Now, two months later, it’s sitting right here in front of me. I am planning to write several apps for the Kinect v2, which I am keeping confidential for the moment. But at a minimum, I wanted to share my experience with the Kinect v2 and what better way to share then to start with unboxing!
